In Beowulf’s case, he first demonstrates his strength by reminiscing the story of him competing with a friend to swim across the channel in a friendly competition. In addition, throughout this story he talks about how he was also able to attack and defend against multiple sea creatures. Obviously, Beowulf’s swimming strength is not possible for the average human to do. This in a way gives Beowulf an advantage over the average human.
