Hyenas are carnivorous. In the wild the only their only predators are humans. Hyenas usually grow to be about 28 to 35 inches tall and weigh up to about 90 to 190 pounds. In this species the female is the dominant spouse because they outweigh the male by 3 pounds. With Hyenas it is also hard to tell the males from the females because they are not hermaphrodites. Although you can’t tell them apart the female is the only one who will bear and nurse the young cubs. The females try to appear very strong and big to protect their cubs from other young males because hyenas can have cannibalistic ways
