The website, www.cia.gov, is all about the Central Intelligence Agency. On the website, it states that their “primary mission is to collect, evaluate, and disseminate foreign intelligence to assist the president and senior US government policymakers in making decisions relating to the national security.” I would like to (1) explain what this website is about, (2) discuss the different types of information available on www.cia.gov, (3) share what I personally learned from this website, and (4) conclude the information obtained.
WHAT THIS WEBSITE IS ABOUT
The website, www.cia.gov, has seven headers: (1) Home, (2) About CIA, (3) Careers and Internships, (4) Offices of CIA, (5) News and Information, (6) Library, and (7) …show more content…
The homepage has four subheadings: About CIA, Resources, Work for CIA, and another link to Kids’ Zone. It has two additional sections, one for Tweets and one that rotates through six interesting articles. About CIA. About CIA explains the creation of the Central Intelligence Agency. President Harry S. Truman signed the National Security Act in 1947. This was the beginning of the CIA. Hovering over the About CIA header has several categories that are called the following: (a) Todays CIA, (b) Leadership, (c) CIA Vision, Mission, Ethos and Challenges, (d) Headquarters Tour, (e) CIA Museum, (f) History of the CIA, (g) FAQs, (h) NoFEAR Act, and (i) Site …show more content…

The blog is also a very interesting place to look. I was very pleased to learn about Oliver Lincoln Lundquist’s life, his role in the OSS before the CIA, and the making of the UN logo. The blog has several videos from the Director of the CIA, and even a few posts with attempts at literary wit.
I will have fun talking to people about the CIA now that I know more than what I see on the television. I can tell others about what kind of jobs there are at the CIA and how to apply for those jobs. I can also tell others where to find history of the CIA and recent news from the CIA.
CONCLUSION The website, www.cia.gov, covers a lot of material that is contained in its seven headers. Many different types of information are presented, all the way from news reports to organizational information to activities and games for children. While I personally learned several interesting things, I am sure www.cia.gov would be a great place for just about anyone to gather useful and interesting knowledge about the
