Gases like carbon dioxide, neon and ozone have risen the earth’s normal temperature, and this change is called the greenhouse effect. In the atmosphere, there are certain gases, such as methane, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxides, and water vapor, which reflect the heat back to earth. Because of this process earth can maintain a suitable temperature. The average temperature on earth would be very low if this radiation is not trapped; as a result of life would not be as it is today. In this way, these greenhouse gases are very important for the survival of the living organisms on earth. But too much of something is not fine, and the excess of these greenhouse gases, chiefly carbon dioxide, in our atmosphere is damaging to life and the habitat. Trees play a significant role in order to remove carbon dioxide. They are known as the largest land-based mechanism for removing carbon dioxide from the environment. The consequences of cutting and burning a million acres of trees each year increase carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Every day almost a thousand acres of rainforest are destroyed in a result of deforestation. As a result of massive loss of forests, the carbon dioxide level has risen approximately 0.7 percent each year (National Geographic). Humans are living in an age where they can find an abundance of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, released through their own inventions, such as factories, and power plants.
