It took the Federals 6 days to react to the panic caused by the storm. If you work for the cure of the citizens in this country, it shouldn't take 6 days to help them. Furthermore, the Federal Government also lacked in giving aid to those in need during the crisis. It should've had aid ready incase this type of situation occurs. I’m pretty sure the Federal Government knew this was coming but just lacked in communicating with the local government. Moreover, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was in charge of this whole situation when it came to play, but they were dysfunctional during hurricane Katrina. It was the state government's job to come up with a quick way to provide the local government with financial needs. But they reacted just as the Federal Government did, too slow and took loads of time to respond. By the time they responded it was a bit too late because many individuals were already dead. Furthermore, the State Government did not have a plan to handle this type of natural disaster. Government charges citizens with loads of tax in order for them to function. What's the point of citizens paying so much tax if in return they get no help, aid, or resources. Moreover, another huge mistake made by the State Government was the lack of communication. They did not communicate correctly with the Federal or local Government. Maybe if the communication was on point, much more individuals would have survived. Additionally, the National Guard was requested but they responded after a few days of the incident. Most of the national guards of the state were serving in Iraq leaving a minimal number left for disasters that occurred in the state. These are some reasons why I believe the State Government was also responsible for the deaths of
