Sudan has a birthrate of 30.01 children per 1000 people in a year. Quite visibly you can observe that, Sudans birth rate is staggering compared to Canada. There is an array of reasons as to why Sudan has such a high birth rate. In terms of education, there is a lack of awareness towards contraception. People are engaging in sexual activities without much thought towards the repercussions. While in Canada women choosing not to have many babies based on factors such as the high cost which is tangled with it. On a deeper level another key characteristic can be tied into the birthrate, which is the infant mortality rate. The purpose of the infant mortality rate is to simply measure the number of deaths occurring of children under the age of one for every 1000 births that occur in a given year. Sudan has a disconcerting 52.86 percent while Canada has a more alleviating rate of 4.72 percent. Children play a vital role in families. For example, the people residing in the parts of Sudan where agriculture is dominant, kids can help with the farming process, which is the families’ income. We can begin with the external debt owed. Both countries owe a substantial amount of money, but in respect of the countries GDP makes a little more sense. Canada has a debt of over 1 trillion dollars, but the GDP is 1.6 trillion dollars. Sudan has an external debt of over 47 billion dollars, and has a GDP of over 65 billion dollars. By governments simply forgiving this enormous debt, they can open the doors to extraordinary prosperity. Instead of having to pay others the countries can further invest in themselves. Looking at developing countries specifically, they are being forced to stay stagnant in terms of economic growth. By forgiving not just Sudans debt but all developing countries debt, we can propel them into a brighter future. In this future they will have better health care, and better education.
