I have had the opportunity to serve clients and members of the public through my personal experience as well as my career. I cannot think of a career path which would require more professionalism than being an officer of the law. I would imagine that being an officer is a constant test as to one’s professionalism, for which I would be well-suited. My high school and college experience has shown me that one loses respect or even integrity without professionalism, which is why I feel it is so important and well-integrated into this role. While I have not been involved with law enforcement as a criminal, as I mentioned I have had many necessary interactions with police in my personal and private experiences. I have shown through my career as both a leader and a team member that I have the ability to remain astute, even in the face of difficulty or even despair. Officials are placed in their positions and trusted by citizens, to keep peace and to uphold the law. I feel that everyday workings are all focused around serving others, something which I have grown to enjoy doing.
Throughout my career, I have held many roles which are built completely around service. I hold myself and others to a high service standard, and I hold this true in all of my daily dealings. I greatly enjoy working with people, and I welcome the diversity that each and every person or experience has to offer. I understand that there are also many facets to the roles of police officer which are not service-centric, such as completing paperwork, reporting, training, and so on. With my service-minded approach, I can confidently say that I would be successful in these non-personal tasks as well.
Because I have always held myself to a high level of service, I have enjoyed great successes. I am glad that I am able to complete tasks, interactions, projects, and jobs altogether with high marks for providing excellent service. As I mentioned, this is a value which I hold very dear.
