Chain of Command The chain of command at Chandler Regional Medical Center (CRMC) begins with the Director of Nursing, followed by the clinical supervisors, charge nurse, staff nurse, and unlicensed personal. During her absence she instructed the SWAT nurse to run the unit in her absence. This ensured proper supervision and was within the policy of CRMC. The charge nurse use the delegation right of right person and task for this situation because she flowed policy for supervision in her absence and assigned this task to the right person.
Leadership Style April exhibited both transformational leadership and bureaucratic leadership. April showed her transformational leadership style by encouraging communication among her staff. An example of this was solicitation input from the nurses in TICU 2 on how she can better ensure that they are receiving items and help they need due to the small size and separation of TICU 2. April Showed her bureaucratic leadership style during code gray involving a petitioned patient and his family. During this volatile situation April was firm in enforcing the 2 visitor rule for TICU 2.
