The disturbance that image causes of our generation is catastrophically huge. Research studies indicate that, children link negative images with their obese state starting at six years old As the years go on, that child can most likely be subject to bullying, teasing and judgment from peers, etc. Children can become emotionally unstable if subjected to these environments. Childhood obesity has not only mental effects, but physical ones as well. As the child grows up, problems like type two diabetes, high cholesterol, fatty liver disease, etc. are all possible effects of obesity (The Obesity Society). Statistics from Harvard that around one out of three people get little or no, physical activity. Preforming physical activities throughout the day will not only help maintain your energy balance, but also, reduce depression and anxiety. While physical activities and a new diet can assist you in losing weight, what is really important is a good role model and/or good moral support. Kelly Brownell former member of Yale University, says “If you go to McDonald's today, you can buy a quarter-pounder with a large drink and a large fries for less than a salad and a bottle of water. There's something that is wrong with that.” Instead of giving us other options of eating, fast foods and junk foods are forced into our faces. Dr Kelly also said, “The personal responsibility approach is a fine place to start, but we've been doing that for 40 years and we're losing the battle with obesity- that’s been an experiment that has failed.” Instead of spending time with people who blatantly tell us to lose weight, we need to look for friends that go out of their way to support the path that we've set out to
