Mesoamerica presents one of the most interesting civilizations of all time. There are several outstanding civilizations in this group, but the Inca and the Aztec civilizations are arguably the most interesting of the Mesoamerican civilizations. Although in the same group, the Inca and Aztec civilizations before the Spanish invasion bear sharp and definitive differences. Nonetheless, they have many unique features that contrast or, at least, set them far apart from the rest of the world civilizations in the early modern era. The administrative set up of the Ming Dynasty was in many ways similar to that of the Inca, with the vast kingdom rule by an emperor assisted by dozens of governors. The position of the Ming Dynasty ruler as a religious leader was almost identical to that of the Inca. The emphasis of the Ming dynasty emperor on religion and the building of the Temple of Heaven helped to plant in the people’s mind the importance of religion. This form of religious thinking and unity is nearly identical to the religious thinking and huge role of religion in the administration seen in the of the Aztec empire. There are some notable differences between the Chinese Empire and the Inca and Aztec. With the Chinese being so expansive and being in contact with other empires through the sea and the Silk road, it had a far more advanced economic and hence political and social scene. The Chinese empire had an elaborate civil service and great naval expedition and trade exchanges with Japan, Arabia and Persia, Philippines and so on.
