Conflict Theory Conflict theory suggests that human behavior in social contexts results from conflict between competing groups. There is a lot that this theory needs to have covered and it ranges from the history, a detailed explanation, examples of the concepts, and a reflection to the theory itself. In order to have a good grasp on what exactly conflict theory is trying to prove a variety of topics will be discussed. At the very core conflict theory can be described as by two groups in a disagreement that eventually settle for an alternative outcome through controversial means.

According to authors Alan Sears and James Cairns, “Conflict theory proponents view the financial crisis as the inevitable outcome of the inequalities and instabilities that plague Western societies, since the present structure of the global economic system enables the largest banks and institutions to avoid government oversight and take huge risks that only reward a select few.” These large banks and big businesses later received a $700 billion bailout from the same government that claims to have insufficient funds for large-scale programs such as universal healthcare. There is a constant struggle between these groups as Kim will not give any Gay couple a marriage license even after the bill for equal marriage was passed. This has led to many pickets throughout the country on behalf of both sides When reflecting upon Karl Marx’s conflict theory I feel a few things about the ideas that this theory presents. I believe that this theory is very true, many times throughout history there have been riots and instances where the people have overthrown their current leader. When someone is reaping many times the amount of benefits as the majority of the population people tend to become jealous and want this unobtainable lifestyle for themselves. Conflict theory may be prominent within a few decades in this current century. Individuals are starting to get fed up with the one percent and it would extremely interesting to witness this process first
