Confucius believed that people have natural goodness in them, thus they develop ideal personality through self-cultivation and studying. His ultimate goal was to provide guidance in bettering oneself. The believers of this religion aim to live a moral life and they hope for a peaceful and an ideal family and society.
In his teaching, Confucius especially emphasizes the importance of five constant virtues. First one is Ren 仁 and this means benevolence and humaneness that a virtuous man must possess. It is a quality of a leader and a Nobel Man compassionate toward other people and even animals. Without this compassion and humanness, one cannot be a true good man as this virtue subsumes the other virtues. The virtue of Ren is very similar to the commandment on Mark 12:31-32 “The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these”

Also, Confucius believed that the constant cultivation of the personality could make better citizens, better family structure, and better society. Similarly, the Bible cherishes wisdom and encourages people to love the knowledge. It is written in Proverbs “The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper,” and “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
