I ran over to the bloody and bruised man. He was breathing very heavily. I asked him, "Are you all right?"
He looked me in the eyes as if he could see into my soul, and I felt as if I've known him my whole life. "I think so. Thank you," he replied.
"I was just on my way to the library, and then I saw you here. Wait, what's your name?" I asked.

"No, I don't remember you" I answered. That question sort of disturbed me, but I acted as if it didn't matter, even though it did.
"Ow!" he said in pain.
"Oh, sorry," I apologized.
He said, "I'm all right. That sure isn't going to kill if that fight didn't kill me."
"How did that fight start, anyway?" I asked.
"Oh, it was just some boys from school. They've been tormenting me because I asked a beautiful girl to the dance last week, and she said no."
"Oh, I'm so sorry. Maybe the girl had a reason," I said.
“She looked a lot like you actually," he explained, getting up and brushing himself off.
"Oh, really?" I asked. Wait, he asked her out last week. A guy asked me out last week!
