There is several traits and concepts that can influence how a student performs in a classroom that impacts motivation as a student. For one oppressive education can challenge someone between growth and a set mindset. In Chapter 2, “The Banking Concept of Education”, of Paulo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed, he manifests his view of the education as corrupt. According to him the educational scheme is a “banking system” where he explains to be the wrong approach, and claims that “Problem-Posing education” which he believes in to be more effective and adequate. When I gained this abilities I stopped tolerating the oppression teachers gave to students according to Freire. Now everything that I did not understand I would question it in class and then go on and do my own research to bring it to class next day to use it as credibility. I try to create my own authority since the first day of class so I can make sure a “problem-posing education” is established in the classroom. According to Freire a problem-posing system is “... the problem-posing educator constantly re-forms his (teacher) reflections in the reflection of the students. The students--no longer docile listeners--are now critical co-inventors in dialogue with the teacher. The teacher presents the material to the students for their consideration, and reconsiders her earlier considerations as the students express their own” based on the soul purpose that teachers are also students and that they have a lot to learn from each other to make learning effective and relatable to reality. These current Trait will help me alot in any class because I know I have the motivation and ability to create a good communication between the teacher and me. In the other hand you have Brainology by Dweck that discusses the importance of these two different mindsets for students ' encouragement to learn. The author is convinced that growth mindset leads to great accomplishments. I have learned that positive mindset is always good and that always trying to establish a “problem solving system” with a professor is key to get the most out of learning.
