Abortion is a dissenting question that continues to impinge all aspects of political policy. How did this moral issue turn into one of the most popular topics in American politics (Luker, 1984)? Well, this is because it involves not only a woman’s individual rights but a child’s potential in life. Over the past couple decades, there has been extreme embroilment on advocating either pro-life or pro-choice. If someone supports pro-life, they believe that every human life matters regardless of the circumstance and that government should have control of regulating abortion. In my opinion, abortion was created to fix another problem in life that has evolved into being convenient to us. Terminating pregnancy is now convenient to society. People are too selfish to take the responsibility of an unborn child because they cannot accept the consequences of their own choices. Newsflash, nothing in life is easy. Sometimes we make good decisions with great outcomes and sometimes we make bad choices with poor consequences. If two people are willing to have sexual relations with each other, then they need to be ready for the “impossible”. The unborn child did not ask to be created nor did it ask to be destroyed. I do have a strong faith in Christianity so it does have an influence on my decision being mainly pro-life. I do give sympathy to those women who have been raped, have several health issues, or if the mother’s life is being threatened. However, I do not show empathy to those who just cannot handle it. If you cannot raise a child, then find a couple who is not capable of conceiving a child and consider adoption. I firmly deem that any form of life has a right to live even if it is not fully developed.
