Power is a relation that doesn’t give rise to a distinct network, but instead crisscrosses across many. It is a universal value to survival and the good things in life. Power is achieved in the society many ways. One way the book states is that man may obtain power with techniques of production. For example, agriculture, animal husbandry, or any nature task that will allow him to extract the necessities to sustain and advance in the group. This is known as power over nature which is basic and fundamental. Through anthropological or sociological research these techniques are able to be recognized. This allows doe a dominant to be acknowledged, like a chief. This may be known as the power of relation if he was able to persuade others and maintain his reputation by expressing his exemplary qualities.
