Certain prejudice understandings are often learnt at an early age within the home environment, in school, or later on at the working place. The level of depth, in witch this problem occurs is the reason that the conflict is not likely to disappear in the recent future. The widely spread thinking towards the Gypsy community leads to natural avoidance from one of the groups to the other. Precisely that is the reason why the mechanism of the intergroup contact hypothesis would be a very useful tool for desolving the negative outgroup opinions. However, the sole use of the hypothesis will not be sufficient enough to remove the old prejudice mindset of Bulgarian citisents. In order to do that the education of the younger generation needs to takes part as well. It has to include lessons on tolerance and multiculturalism. Bulgarian organisations from the non-government sector could work together for educational programs targeting racist stereotypes and discrimination, and to include the history of that minority in the school …show more content…
