Most heroes are is courageous and willing to put others above themselves. Rosa Parks showed courage by not moving to the back of the bus when a white man told her to. Segregation between blacks and whites was very strong in the 1950’s, and white people thought they were better than black people in every way. Being fearful in this case doesn't mean that people are scared of a monster or of the dark, it means they are afraid of standing out. Those are the people that follow the crowd and don't speak, but our heroes today are leaders and are not afraid of being heard. Heroes are normally not selfish. The people who are selfish are the people that only think about themselves and no one else. An example of a selfish person is Colin Kaepernick. Colin decided to kneel during the national anthem which shows disrespect to our country, and all of the men and women who fight for our freedom. People like Colin Kaepernick are only going for a personal gain, not a helpful gain towards the community.
So it all comes down to the question that started all of this. What is a hero? The heros in our world are the people that stand out from the crowd. Not everyone can have super speed or super strength, but we, as normal people, can make a difference in our own way. Heroes are not selfish or fearful, they are brave, responsible, courageous, and always trying help others in any way
