Definition Essay: What Is Trust?

Decent Essays
What is trust? Trust is a firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. I believe in trust. You need to have trust to have good friendships and relationships. Whether it's a relationship between you and your boss, or co-workers, or family members, or boyfriend/girlfriend, or classmates, etc. It's important to trust those you keep close because the more trust you have with the person the stronger the relationship or friendship will get.
To trust someone is when you believe in that persons integrity meaning you know that they will ALWAYS tell you the truth. Also that you can tell them anything and you know they won't say anything to anyone or that you know they have good intentions and won't do anything to ruin the relationship between you guys. For example in order to go into business with someone you need to trust that person completely and make sure that they won't do you wrong, they won't steal from you, they wouldn’t lie about the business, or lie on their taxes. You really can't go into business with someone unless you know for sure you can trust them. How do you know that you can trust someone you are working with? A good way to find out is to see if they are doing the job

I know which friends I can trust and which ones I can't. I can tell you that I am so much closer to the ones that I do trust because we can say anything to each other and know that it will stay between us. My friends mean so much to me and I don’t know what I would do without them and we are very close to each other because we have that strong connection because we know we can trust each other. On the other hand I know what it's like to have a friend I thought I could trust and later found out that they were not trust worthy. I learned that the hard way and went through a lot and that ended our friendship. I hope I never lose the friends I trust because those are my true friends and it hurts to lose

As a manager trust is something that is always part of interactions between individuals. In order for an organization to be successful a manager and employee should allow themselves to have an understanding of one another regarding trust. If an individual does think their co-workers have the ability to achieve certain tasks other employees could potentially take shortcuts and or do things to make the other employee look bad. This could go both ways and have a devastating effect on a team environment as well as the actual organization.…
