Despite the decrease in fragility fracture and a decrease in the risk for colon cancer, overall health risks generally outweigh benefits from hormonal replacement therapy in older postmenopausal women with a higher incidence of cardiovascular events (unstable angina, thromboembolic stroke, venous thromboembolism including pulmonary embolism) and increased incidence of the endometrial and breast cancer (Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)). Younger women who had surgical menopause due to endometriosis run the risk of having osteoporosis at an earlier age. Hormonal replacement therapy does not seem to be a good solution to help prevent and/or treat osteoporosis. All other opinions to prevent and/or treat osteoporosis should be used before hormonal replacement therapy. Osteoporosis is one of many health problems that can occur when the homeostasis of the human body is no longer maintained.
