Basically, why do I care? I have been in music culture for a decade and a lot of my major accomplishments are music related: including performing in Carnegie Hall and traveling Europe with the Oklahoma Ambassadors of Music. Even now, I am listening to classical music as I type away. I have had a constant struggle with my ADHD and not able to focus. My mother has to have complete silence to focus so she pushed me to be in quiet locations as well. This did not work and may have made my progress in education worse. After a number of years procrastinating, I stumbled onto a post on social media that overall described how music could be beneficial while studying. Revolutionary! I continued to read on and understand the thought process behind music for video games, describing the fast pace songs to help with quick thinking and fast judgement versus the slow pace that required more of a thought process. The more I read on, the more it made sense. I decided to try it out myself and put the music to the test. At first I couldn’t focus, I didn’t know the songs and kept getting distracted by them. But after time, I started to know the songs and they just began to fall back into my subconscious. I could get through essays in one sitting and they actually sound decent! I finally broke my insane routine and was able to do
