For example, Krystal Jenkins, wanted a better career, but knew she had to further her education first then build up from there. She has a daughter that Krystal has to provide for and living in a crowded apartment with her parent s is not going to help her succeed her path for her own life. But, Krystal had to pass remedial math in order to take her real classes and begin a new life. The downside is that Krystal had failed her remedial math exam fourth time. Community colleges do not allow students to go into any other major classes until they pass their remedial classes. The only benefit to this is that community colleges does not have a limit for how many a student fails a class repetitively. After failing the exam for the fourth time, Krystal is holding back on school for a while. Community colleges can do so much for a student until they cannot no longer provide that benefit. This is a reason where there is a limit on how much community college can help, but still reach no success for the students and their
