In the novels, Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philback and The Curious Incident of the dog in the night time by Mark Haddon, discrimination is a central theme. I did not agree with the manner in which Freak and Max are discriminated against by Tony D as Tony wanted to bully and call them names “ you! The Freak! You and your giant retard.” In so doing he made Freak and Max feel that they are social outcasts and will never get friends. I was not satisfied when Freak or Max did not stand up for themselves because I believe that people who discriminate should be held accountable for there wrong doing.. I did not agree with the manner in which the lion is getting denied for his independence from society as the society locked the lion in the cage in a limited space and was not able to go out. The lion wanted to go out of the cage and this is evident when the poet mentions when the lion has memories of running and hunting free.
