The cardiovascular system and the respiratory system can interrelate to perform a function such as exercise. In order for the body to move our muscles require oxygen. While the body’s muscles are working there is a constant delivery of oxygen to the muscles. The oxygen is taken to the muscles during exercise as a result of the circulatory and respiratory systems working together. The heart, blood and the lungs are the main organs which are responsible for this action. These two systems interrelate as we breathe in oxygen which enters the lungs and absorbed into the blood stream. The heart pumps the oxygenated blood through the arteries and to the muscles which provides them with movement. At the same time de-oxygenated blood is pumped back to the heart by veins from the body’s organs. As the movement of the muscles uses the oxygen up, carbon dioxide is produced which becomes absorbed into the bloodstream. The lungs remove the carbon dioxide; the …show more content…
The role of the endocrine system is the production of hormones; they consist of a collection of glands which secrete special chemicals to function different parts of the body. Endocrine glands release their chemical messengers into the bloodstream; this is where the circulatory system is involved in the process. On the cells of organs are customized receptors, these receptors immediately recognise and receive the hormones via the bloodstream. They only receive the hormones that they need to help perform their function and ignore the others. The remaining hormones that do not bind with the receptors remain in the bloodstream. The thyroid gland and the pineal gland, the gonads and the two adrenal glands are examples that would rely on the relationship of the endocrine system and the cardiovascular system.
