These effects were to benefit the community in a positive way by bringing people who were involved in project management from different perspectives (Clark, 2003). Some of the needs of the community is creating employment for graduates and having them get engaged in community development from various positions. In doing so the community benefits in one way or the other from the projects that are initiated and the employees get a means of earning a living and hence can uplift their standards of living. They all have the objective of bringing together students and executives in the field and have a selected topic to be covered. Through these the students get to interact with the ones in the field and the ones in the industry get to know what is being offered and changes in the curriculum and gauge whether they will be suitable for them or not. The competitions also bring together students from various colleges and they can also get to compare what they have and what is there in other colleges as well. They also get to appreciate the importance of what they are learning and how they can apply the same to the real world for theirs and the community’s needs. The National Collegiate Sales Competition has been running from the time of its inception in the year 1999 and brings together professionals and students for the sake of enhancing the sales industry (National Collegiate Competition, 2016). The competition provides an assembly of students from leading universities and professionals in the field and they get to network with the objective of interacting to produce the best sales professionals that have ever been there.
