Epidemiology is the study of identifying the risk factors associated with the incidence of disease in a particular population. In short, it is study to understand when and how the diseases occur. The most common activities which epidemiologists would be engaged are on identifying factors associated with diseases and what can protect human and animals from the diseases. The incidence rate is the frequency at which the health event occurs during a period of times. Epidemiologists used these data to understand the source or cause of disease.

The main functions and responsibilities as county health officer are to learn status of population. Other functions include providing clean air, water, food and protections from infectious disease. Healthcare officer will be the one to enforce public health laws and support health policy that can affects community.

The barriers I expect in implementing a public health response to the crisis would be more financially. Each person treatment cost is really high. Other barrier might be proper sanitizing habits.

We want our community to be healthy. I took this position, as I want to help people when they need most. This is the time to work so I will try my best to eradicate meningococcal from the root. I will act on public’s best interest. I worked with public health nurse and with couple of staff from state Department of health and provide antibiotic prophylaxes to those who are in contact.
