There are many social issues that affect the community, but the topic of Homelessness has been a big problem. There are many people living in poverty for a number of reasons. However, Veterans that served in the military are two times more likely to become homeless than the average American. There are many factors that come into play when it comes to veterans ending up homeless. Many of the Homeless veterans are from the Vietnam war because this was one of the hardest wars that many served in. After this war the members didn’t have the support that they need and they were not welcomed back from the army.
Many homeless veterans suffer from PTSD after they serve in the war. During their time serving in the Military they experience a lot of violence along with some other things.
