First off, I am an only child. After having me, my parents were told they couldn’t have any more children; this was very disappointing to both parents. My mom has resulted to adopting dogs because of this; I think she may be a dog hoarder. On my dad’s side, I am the only full biological niece. I say biological because my dad has half siblings with children, although my family has never been close to them. On my mom’s side, I am the main niece my aunt talks to. My aunt also has half siblings with children, but they 've never been as close as her and I were. I was also the only grandchild until I was twelve. I have so many people I call uncle and aunt, that I have lost count. My “uncle” Herb and “aunt” Rena” are a huge part of my life. They are my godparents, and I have a very special bond with them. Both of them used to tell me that I was like the daughter they never had. They have two sons, Brixton and Bailey. They used to babysit me when I was younger. I usually refer to them as my cousins to people. It makes it easier than explaining the whole “not biological” thing, but I love them all just the
