The stomach is a very occupied part of the human body, it is very important since it has many very important functions in order to be alive. The stomach is a main topic that is interpreted throughout Roach’s book. The stomach is a really busy organ in the body and does a lot of work. The stomach is the machine where it breaks the food from big chunks rather than the mouth doing that. The stomach is in charge of that because people do not chew the food more than ten times therefore that becomes the stomach’s job.…
I remember the gut wrenching feeling in my stomach as my best friend and I approached the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Hershey Park, called SkyRush. I am not sure why I agreed to go on this roller coaster, considering most of the time at amusement parks I entertain myself with food, and miniature rides that stay level to the ground. Unlike me, my friend liked the rush and heart dropping feeling of being at the apex of a roller coaster and then dropping down at maximum speed. Personally, I preferred the ground, where I remained in full control of my own safety. Yet that afternoon I found myself standing in line for SkyRush.…
The Iceman better known as Otzi, was found buried within the ice of the Alps in the 1990’s. Ever since then people have tried to come up with theories for how Oetzi was murdered over 5,000 years ago. He lived at the end of the Ice age, and the beginning of the stone age. Otzi was five feet two inches tall and around forty to fifty years old. He had been a person of large significance during his time.…
It’s a blast! We have recently just opened up a new ride in Hersheypark entitled “The Star Wars Coaster”. It’s an ongoing water slide that has many unique properties. Such as increased momentum from time to time which increases your acceleration throughout the ride. Imagine going through the galaxy and experiencing spacecraft, while in orbit you there are multiple space spots which gives your space pod a surge in speed.…
As students at St. Charles Community College there are many opportunities to explore student life. With many options of activities that occur sporadically over the course of the year. Also there is a large number of clubs that are the most common ways of being involved at the school. There are groups for everybody, and for example the first week of September a group of students from the Global Student Network program at SCC put an event together called the Fall-fun Bitz. They coordinated with school groups and with some administration to create this awesome event.…
My friend, Odina, was laughing beside me the whole time; she did not know how worried and anxious I was about this devastating rollercoaster. It is called the Iron Rattler, and it stood at a height of one hundred-eighty feet tall. The other passengers were energized with excitement, anxiety, and fear. I felt uncomfortable getting on the rollercoaster because I thought I was going to die. I thought maybe the rollercoaster would fall…
The Launcher is a ride that will thrill all ages and suit any family. Launcher will take riders from Earth, to space, and then into the planet Mercury. Launcher is a ride that will suit all types of people. The car the riders sit in is a rocket ship that will sit up to 12 people. 60 mph is the top speed for Launcher, riders may think that is really slow for a roller coaster, but in order for riders to get the full experience for traveling through space, the ride has to travel slower.…
The death and way of life of the iceman is still a mystery to us historian, but we have a few possible theory's of "where he was going?", "where he was coming from?", "how he died?", "why he was in the alps along the Austro-Italian border?". The iceman was going to go fight a war between two societies, including his own, fighting for land. Neither society knew the other existed until they ventured out beyond the village borders.…

We only have 5 days to come up with an IceBreaker activity for the AZSBDC Dept. meeting. If you have ever participated in a group IceBreaker that you enjoyed, please let the team know in a returned group email. Explain the type of icebreaker (game, questions, etc), the steps and outcome of the activity. We can discuss the icebreakers and what would work within our time frame (15-20 minutes), in email or a conference call. If I could have your suggestions by noon (12pm) tomorrow, it will be greatly appreciated.…
Introduction: Ski jumping is one of the competitive sports with the Olympian ideal of going faster, jumping further and leaping higher than the opposition (Muller 269). However, sometimes accidents happen. For example, Thomas Morgenstern crashed during a trial round for the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Bad Mitterndorf. Later, he was hospitalized with skull injuries and a bruised lung (The Associated Press).…
Me. Colorado. Mountains. Skiing. 12,510 feet. Nothing brings more enthusiasm than knowing you’re about to be carried over two miles in elevation by a rickety bench hanging from a cable, only to slide all the way down on a couple narrow strips of plastic.…
Everywhere you look in life there are different sorts of symbols and conflicts, especially in literature that’s what makes reading it so interesting, the things these authors can do with words. I have chosen three different works; Survivors by Kim Addonizio, American Gothic by John Stone and, The Blizzard by David Ives. In this paper, I am going to give you some examples of symbols and conflicts in these works and my responses/thoughts on those topics. The Blizzard was written in 2006, in this there were many different conflicts and symbols that made it for an interesting play to read.…
Snow globes are made of clear glass, a transparent sphere with a scenic view and a plastic toy inside the globe. The sphere likewise encases the water in the globe; the water fills in as the medium through, where the snow falls. The globe must be shaken to actuate the snow so the white particles can fall gradually to reach the base. When the snowflakes/object falls, it experiences two external forces which are; the gravitational force and the aerodynamic (air resistance) drag of the object, which gradually brings the object down. Furthermore, the drag force affects the object because of the shape and the viscosity of the fluid.…
One who has ever been to an amusement park knows that this is no simple task. Finding the line tested my patience, it made me wonder if this one excursion was worth the nausea and the fear that this roller coaster would entail. I had heard of this hunk of metal, constructed to look like a racecar, and knew that it would certainly test my courage. The Dragster was recorded as 120 mph, the third fastest roller coaster in the world, and had the highest peak in the park.…
