One of them being cybercrime. Parents are not always able to monitor their children while they are on the internet; this leaves it to the FBI to make sure that these children are safe and are not in danger. Some of the many dangers these children could possibly face are, being solicited by an adult, identity theft, and exposure to indecent material. Another malicious act the FBI investigates is terrorism. Even the smallest security threat could unwind into the most calamitous act of terrorism since 9/11. A terrorist attack is defined as "A surprise attack involving the deliberate use of violence against civilians in the hope of attaining political or religious aims."; this goes against the purpose of the U.S. constitution. Therefore, abiding by the first amendment that protects freedom of religion in turn honors the U.S. 's duty to insure domestic tranquility. The FBI also treats all people as equals. An example of this equality is when the FBI investigates White-Collar crimes. White-Collar crimes are financially motivated nonviolent crimes committed by business and government professionals. Unfortunately, no one was monitoring the line that night. She was stabbed 6 times in the chest with a boning knife by her father while her mother held her down. Both parents were sentenced to the death penalty. Tina 's death wasn 't prevented, but her pleas were caught on tape and used against her parents in their prosecution. To more directly help keep citizens informed and safe, the FBI website has a national sex offender list that is accessible to the public. Whether or not it is being used, it does not alter the fact that it is available. There could even be 130 sex offenders in a 3 mile radius of yourself.
