The intersection between psychology and the justice system. One major compentent is having a understanding of legal concepts, especially concerning expert witness testimony. Which is what I will be explaining throughout this presentation.
What can a forensic psychologist be questioned about?
The pertinent facts of the case that have been gathered by the investigators through evidence, eye witness testimony, and clues from the scene. The scope is limited to what can and cannot be questioned based off the creditnals.

Makes analysis and presents the facts of an investigation of why things proceed in the mannerisms that they did.
Testimony by experts:
1. the testimony is based upon sufficient facts or data
2. the testimony is the product of reliable principles and methods
3. the witness has applied the principles and methods reliable to the facts of the case
1. Scientific function - collecting, testing, and evaluating evidence and forming an opinion based on said evidence.
2. forensic function - communicating said opinion to the judge and jury in the court of law.
1. If it is found through cross examination that the witness is not capable of offering such opinions.
2. If it is found to be outside the scope of knowledge for said witness.
3. if the information being discussed is unprejudiced, confusing, and/or misleading.
