The purpose of this paper is to review the process of assessment with the use of three different types of formative assessments, allowing the instructor to arrive to conclusions about the overall success of the training experience. Formative assessments are vital for the process of gathering information that allows education professionals to improve learner’s retention and application of the material. The assessment used as well the training activities should align with the learning objectives created prior to the training experience.

Assessment methods have been tried through the years of formalized education, providing insight and useful information about the educational experience, with mixed results. The learning styles affects the way the person acts in society, solves issues, deal with stressful situations, participates in activities, just to mention a few. The key for success is to create an educational experience that includes the range of learning styles increasing the possibilities for the instructor to deliver knowledge and to show the learners the possibility of expanding the repertoire of learning strategies and activities.
As the instructor of this training, a clear idea of my own learning style should be obtained as well, so there is the assurance that, even though my preferred learning style keeps me on the comfort zone, the main goal is to deliver the information in a way that satisfied and meet the trainees learning styles.
