Today, Green Mark certifications have gained much recognition and many developers from home and abroad are trying to get their projects accredited. According to BCA, the fact that Green Mark schemes were specially developed for tropical climate has made this scheme popular in the region. Straight Time published that the United Nations is also impressed with Singapore’s BCA Green Mark Scheme and they are interested for a tie up between the two, for better research and training on sustainable buildings and districts. Green Mark District has six categories, divided into two broad zones. Each category has its own set of indicators. This scheme doesn’t have any pre requisites, but there are minimum required points for each broad zone.
