It probably goes without saying that your natural gas range will last longer and operate more efficiently if you take good care of it.
Always read save and follow the manufacturer's instruction manual that came with the appliance.
Check all of the appliance's safety ratings.
Try to always maintain the gas range in a clean condition.

Never use your range or oven for heating a room.
Do not keep flammable items on or near your range.

If you find that they are all off and you can still smell gas near the appliance, it's best to leave the house and call the local gas utility company from a safer location.If the holes in a burner are clogged, you can clean them with a pipe cleaner, a paper clip, or a fine wire. Do not use a toothpick or anything else that could get stuck inside and burn.
A good safely tip for using any cooking surface is to keep pan handles turned away from you so they don't get knocked off the cooktop accidently.
After lighting the burner, set the size of the flame so that it expands to about one-half inch from the outer edge of the pan. If the flame curls up past the sides of the pan, you are wasting energy. Lower the flame to heat non-aluminum pans evenly.
If a pan of oil catches fire the fastest solution is simply to cover it with a metal lid to snuff out the flame. If the flames seem unmanageable then reach for a dry powder extinguisher. Again, never use water on a grease fire.While baking leave at least an inch of space between the oven walls and the pans, this will provide for better circulation.
If you are using more than one pan, don't place them directly above or below each other.
