If the student is between the ages of 15 to 15 ½, they need to complete a 30 hour driver education course to obtain their driver’s education permit. If between 15 ½ and 16 years of age, students can choose between completing the 30 hour driver's education course or taking a 4 hour driver's awareness class in order receive their driver’s awareness permit.
