Although, novels tell stories that are not true, they can teach valuable lessons in life. In the novel, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, there is insight into how the characters struggle to find their way while holding on to their personal dreams. Similiarly, in the article, “A Duty to Family, Heritage, and Country” by Ying Ying Yu, the author informs the reader of how Chinese students are held to very high standards, and there is only one dream, and that is to be successful in the eyes of their family and country. Steinbeck 's Of Mice and Men and the article by Ying Ying Yu both demonstrate how one measures success by his or her own actions and consequences.…

“Pain, hurt, sadness and loneliness, bottled all that right up, and tossed it away to the bottomless pit.” Hip hop artist Kid Cudi gives us a short but sweet description of negative emotions and how they can be a daily struggle for anyone. The pain, hurt and sadness feelings can be directly linked to the loneliness, and how being lonely is the reason for so much pain. As the story goes, the indistinct description of the alienation of characters in the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck is consistent throughout. Appropriately, Soledad is the location of the ranch, as this is a place steeped in loneliness.…
I want to thank for your response, it is very informative and helpful to expand my knowledge of Out of this Furnace. I appreciate how you concentrated on Kracha’s life, you provide a lot of additional information I was unaware of, so thank you. However, I feel your focus should not be so confined to just Kracha’s life, yet expand to all of the everyday workers at that time. Granted Kracha was a central character of the novel, which you explain, and how his life plays a pivotal role in the rest of the generations to come. However, restricting your explanations to just Kracha, narrows the reader's overall understanding of everyday workers at that time, because we are only reading about Kracha’s life.…

They start to get used to their jobs alongside with Crooks, Candy, and Curley and his wife.
