Health Promotion Model Nola J Pender purposed the health promotion model in 1982. It defines health as a positive dynamic state which is not an absence of the disease. Nonetheless, it focuses on increasing a level of wellbeing (Pender, 2011). Health promoting behaviors should result in improved health, enhanced the functional ability and better quality of life at all stages of development. The final behavioral demand is also influenced by the immediate competing demand and preferences, which can derail intended health-promoting actions.
