They are high-density lipoproteins (HDL) and low density lipoproteins (LDL). (sighting). The cholesterol is very essential in the normal functioning of the heart and a high LDL causes an imbalance in the heart and leads to heart problems such as oxidation. When the oxygen within the lipoprotein is oxidized, it becomes toxic to the cells. This also going unseen can lead to very serious heart problems that can lead to death. The most common problem to heart disease is obesity. This one is the most important because many Americans are overweight and not realizing the affect it has on the body. Obesity deals with the fat cells within the body that expand which causes inflammation. When this happens, the metabolism is slowed down significantly and the body has to work twice as hard to try to maintain a healthy balance. Because all of the essential hormone levels become imbalanced, it causes the heart to work harder putting it at risk for heart disease. High blood pressure is also known as the “silent killer” because maintaining a healthy blood pressure is very important for the heart. This tie back into with a healthy blood pressure is maintained and needed for the physical activities that are done within the day.
