The Arab hospitals on the other hand took a different approach and helped anyone who needed medical assistance. This sort of ethical approach to care by doctors is the foundation for concepts such as the Hippocratic Oath and is still with modern medicine today.

The top management consists of a CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and a CFO (Chief Financial Officer). Under them is the Middle Management these are division and departmental heads in charge of specific departments. Under them are the front line supervisors who are the first line of supervision to the rank and file workers. The structure is built on the Organizational Theory which states that only so many people can be supervised by one individual this is known at “Span of Control.” Hospitals use “Specialization” to assign titles to specific work and those that do the, such a Nurses Aid, OBGYN etc. Like a major corporation Hospitals usually have a Board of Directors or Board of Trustees their job is to oversee all the workings of the hospital. The Board of Directors is in charge of hiring and firing the CEO or other president of the hospital. There is also a host of other titles and acronyms that fit within the specific organizational structure of the hospital such as the COO (Chief Operating Officer) which one would find in place of a CEO or CFO of a smaller hospital.
