The Feeling of Progress: The Revolutions That Impacted Humanity Amidst many recurring conflicts within powerful nations, two revolutions particularly influenced the changes in Latin and European societies. The Venezuelan and French Revolution occurred in a time of instability, during the early nineteenth and late eighteenth centuries. These revolutions both impacted the social, political, and economic efforts of the countries, which led to the participation of many people. However, the people from both homelands did not fight for the same things. Instead, they fought for something that would benefit the future of humanity.…
After America declared its independence in July of 1776, Congress knew this was their opportunity to create something completely out of the ordinary, that would have to stand the tale of time. The following year, the Continental Congress created the Articles of Confederation, which ultimately divided the federal government from the state. This article wrote the ground rules for America's regulation of currency, foreign affairs and guidelines for war, but left out the States, to decipher their policies individually (1*). Ten years later, the Constitutional Convention knew that America needed to be seen as a whole, even with the separation of power. The Constitution was written to unionize the States with the Federal government, and was finalized…
There are similarities between the two governments but the structure of the Constitution is better than its predecessor the Articles of Confederation. To support this claim, there are multiple forms of textual evidence that can be used. To start, when the Constitution was first introduced as an improvement to the A.of C. two noteworthy rebellions are caused. (Doc. D and Doc. E.)…
The 1780’s were a tough time for the America’s. America had recently declared itself independent from the British and were ending the Revolutionary War in the early 1780’s. The Articles of Confederation was drafted and put into effect in 1781. The Articles of Confederation was created due to the war going on because they needed unity between all the states in order to fend off the foreign forces. Upon the creation of the Articles of Confederation, there were many upsides to it but there were struggles with this type of weak government that led to its failure and the creation of a new document that we are all familiar with today, the Constitution.…
First, they had met in Annapolis, Maryland to discuss how to improve the Articles of Confederation because they didn’t possess the sufficient power to rule over the states or take important decisions that could improve the states. It would not be until May 1787 in Philadelphia where they would create a new government called the Constitution. When they met in Philadelphia, the first thing they did was to appoint a president for the Constitutional Convention and they elected George Washington for his good reputation. During the Convention, plans were discussed by both the small and large states. Smaller states fought for equal representation in single legislature, and to revise the Articles.…
As the Revolution came near the end, Americans decided there needed to be a set of laws in place, for the independence that will be gained if they win the war. The first set of rules to be drafted is known as the Articles of Confederation. Seeing that it was America’s first attempt at a government, it is quite obvious that there were many issues with the rules and provisions created, which caused problems in the new nation and stress among political leaders. The Articles of Confederation caused economic, legislative and leadership problems, along with unrest in the Anti-Federalist Party as shown in Documents A, spoken by Melancton Smith and Document B written by Brutus 1.…

After Napoleon was defeated, European governments wanted peace and stability. They set up a series of meetings, the Congress of Vienna, in Vienna, Austria’s capital, to create policies to restore these. The Congress had three goals. First, they wanted to keep France from attacking any other countries. They strengthened countries around France by uniting them, recognizing them, and adding to them.…
The Founding Fathers had a very difficult job. The delegates knew that they had to find a way to work together and be one united nation, and they knew that they needed one leader who would represent the whole country. Many of the delegates were afraid of giving a central government too much power, because they believed it would be no different than having a king. Very soon after the American revolutionaries completed the Articles of Confederation, they realized that the documents were inadequate to the task of unifying a diverse group of newly-independent colonies. A debate thus ensued, between the Federalist side, led by Alexander Hamilton and James Madison, and the Anti¬Federalists, led by Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry, over exactly…
Weakness of the Article of Confederation During the course of the Second Continental Congress in 1777, the Articles of Confederation were adopted for the proposal of a central institution. Each of the three revolutions ended with a difference being made in the government and in the way it governed its people. Also, much of thee revolutions are connected and may have affected the other revolutions. Chronologically, the first revolution to occur was the Glorious Revolution.…
