At first, Scrooge is a big grump. He acts as if the world doesn't need him, thinking that he has it all. He has the money, but the fame is not there. Everybody hates him, he is just cruel and is extremely selfish, but this is how he changes, not how he was. Scrooge's partner Marley dies and comes back to haunt him. Scrooge sees what will happen to him if he continues hating people, he will be weighed down in chains, his wrongdoings. Marley then tells Scrooge he will be haunted by three ghosts, and all of this will happen on the night before Christmas, which Scrooge hates. Scrooge simply says humbug and goes to bed. Then the first ghost, the ghost of Christmas past, visits Scrooge. The ghost takes Scrooge back into the past and then,
