They could either operate in destination countries or transit nations. They might start smuggling people because they’re poor, and they’re in desperate need of money. They might have once been victims themselves, and now operate in the smuggling process itself. They are the ones who are in control. The victims will do anything they say to them or order them to do because they want a chance of a new life. Obviously at this point they wouldn’t mind giving up more than they already did to get to their dream. Smugglers would send a large number of passengers on a ship that could carry about 200 only. So the ship will sink and most probably most of the passengers on it with die to. Smugglers would do anything to get money because of their lack of education and most importantly manners. Smugglers who smuggle people are most likely involved in human trafficking. Both are very inhumane process that might lead to the smuggler getting caught. If he does he’d probably spend the rest of his life in prison, or might even be sentenced for death. While the victims will do everything they are asked some smugglers still decide to play them, steal them, and ditch
