Guided imagery is the process of visually imagining either training routines or the desired outcome in an actual athletic performance. Many elite athletes routinely use this, it is the process of creating an intention of what you want to happen or feel. Repeated imagery can build both experience and confidence in an athlete's ability to perform certain skills under pressure, or in a variety of possible situations. This is linked to concentration because using imagery from a previous performance may help them to focus and keep them on track for a good performance.
