The biodiversity in the Philippines is in crisis. The Philippines is also one of the 34 global biodiversity hotspots, it means that our countries’ high biodiversity and endemism is facing a high level of threat. Less than 6% of our country’s original forests remains and 491 species are listed as globally threatened. Many species endemic to country are threatened or endangered. Philippines have more than 52,177 described species, half of which are endemic or found nowhere else on earth. For more than 1,130 terrestrial wild life species recorded for our country 49% or half are endemic, 157 are threatened, 128 are threatened endemic. In floral diversity or in plants, between 10,000 and 14,000 species of vascular and non-vascular plants, which half of it is endemic in the country. In amphibians or animals, the estimated total of amphibians is 359 species (101 species) and reptiles (258 species) are known in the …show more content…
They also destroyed the natural habitats of the many species in this country. I am doing this research for us to know that we are not the only one that is living in this country. That there are so many species that is also lives here in the Philippines. If we did not stop all those wrong doings that we are doing right now all of those species will be homeless. I’m also doing this for us to know that our country’s biodiversity is facing a crisis and that’s because of us, because of our selfish mind. There are so many thing that I want to accomplish by doing this synthesis paper. First, I want not for myself but for all of us to realize that we need to taking care our environment, our biodiversity. Because not all the time or not forever all those species are stay here, time will that all of them will be gone. Second, for me to know how to conserve our natural resources and not to take for granted all those already used things that we can also use in a good way or in a useful way, we just have to recycle it. There are so many importance of this synthesis
