Some issues before the movie was that there were barely any philosophical sci-fi movies in the. When the movie came out there was a lot of philosophy with it that made at least me think about life and how we live. Truman has his reality and reality check when he realizes the clockwork in his town and his “wife” breaks character. The real world has this reality check to when Truman does because they start to think about if they were in Truman's place at that very moment.
