I do not see why this would justify why Americans could discriminate against them after all if they would work for anything, it must have meant that they needed financial help or that they were already facing enough difficulties and they did not need more with all the discrimination. They also had to face discrimination when applying for jobs for example, many places had signs that said they needed employees but that Irish couldn’t apply. This is really cruel because after all they had already faced the Irish still had to come to America and still struggle like they had come in hope but instead faced discrimination. The Irish really need jobs in order to be able to support their family, but Americans seemed to go on with their day with all the nonchalance in the world, that is despicable.
