Dr. Durst when you gave us the choice of reading Chapter 8 “Theologians Look to the Future with Hope” (eschatology) or Chapter 12 “Postmodern Theologians Rebel against Modernity,” I knew I had to pick chapter 8. I believe that many Christians fear the topic of eschatology, because it is not clear as some other topics in the Bible. When I read Olson statement that "God does not yet exist" I must say that I was startled and perplexed. Olson says this statement was used to counter the radical secular theology that sprung from the 60's cultural and from the atheists claim there was no God (p. 449).

I believe that God's existence now is just as real as his existence from the moment of creation to the point of the resurrection, and to the present time, and His existence in the future is the same as well. I believe God's existence is outside of our time line of the earth, the Milky Way, and the universe. His existence transcends time, but He is at the controls of time. 491). Pannenberg goes onto say that Jesus resurrection is an anticipation of the end though not end itself. How can Jesus’ resurrection be connected to ours? The scripture points to Jesus’ resurrection being the first fruits of the resurrection of the dead. I know Pannenberg’s idea sounds of the wall, but I believe he is alluding to this event as well. I cannot agree with his terminology but somehow Jesus’ resurrection is directly connected to the future resurrection of dead in Christ. Are we a part of Christ body as Pannenberg suggest? The writings of the Apostle Paul in the Bible reminds us of this fact that as Christians we are all a part of Christ
