The defendant, who was an adult criminal justice ASU student instructed a 17-year-old high school student who was her boyfriend to aid her in committing the felony. The defendant had the juvenile accomplice use his body as a shield so as to block her actions from public view as she made her way around my vehicle to cause the criminal damage. When this occurred, another male had attempted to stop the defendant, but the defendant pushed the male friend away and had her juvenile boyfriend assist her in the crime.
The defendant knowingly made false statements and misrepresented facts to law enforcement about the crime during the criminal investigation. Initially, the defendant had lied and made up a story stating how a friend of hers named “Leo” had conducted the felony damage to my vehicle. The defendant stated to me that her friend who was associated with a street gang used a knife to damage my vehicle. The defendant further stated that she had told this person where I park when on campus, showed him a picture of me including a picture of my vehicle. While this story turned out to be a lie by the defendant in order to cover up her actions, for several months this story was the truth to me. I was fearful every time I was on campus that an unknown male who already committed a felony against me may attack me or damage my vehicle again due to the defendant. This fear caused an extreme amount of strain and stress in my life. I went from being an active part of the ASU community to avoiding campus out of fear due to the defendant’s actions and
