Abstract:
In science, it’s said that cell tissue can be permeable, this means that the cell tissue can regulate what fluids or airs travel through the membrane. For a cell to be able to have that kind of attribute, it permits us to conclude that cell tissues contribute significantly in passive transport. Passive transport is the measure of constituents through the cell membrane minus any involvement of energy by the cell. This experiment was done in order to govern how osmosis occurs in two different substances. I placed a blotted deshelled egg in beaker A in 14% distilled water allowing it to sit for 10 minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes. I also placed another blotted deshelled egg in beaker B in 30% sucrose allowing it to sit 10 minutes, 20 …show more content…
This experiment was implemented to find out if water will pass through the membrane to a solution of a advanced concentration. The procedure of osmosis is vital for all living entities. So, to understand Osmosis is to understand all living things. When a solution that has the same osmotic weight as another substance, mostly one in a cell is said to be Isotonic because the solutes inside and outside of the cell or the same (Microscopy and Microscopes Magazine 2013). They balance each other out. If concentration of a solute is less outside the cell versus inside the cell, the cell tends to be Hypotonic and when the solutes are greater outside the cell versus inside the cell, the cell tends to be Hypertonic. My first hypothesis for the first egg that was placed in 14% distilled water was that the egg will gain mass and for our second egg that was placed in 30% sucrose will lose mass
