Introduction:
Politics has a profound effect on all aspects of life; as its influence is evident in the aviation industry. The airline industry is heavily dependent on its consumers. It parodies the economical state the United States exists in. Many of the reasons why individuals travel via airlines can be accredited to business trips, meetings and tourism. Two of the main reasons why individuals travel are directly reliant on the state of the economy. This directly affects its stakeholders because the majority of them can benefit from a growing economy or suffer through recessions and slow economic periods. Politics play a role in regulating and mandating certain safety precautions. Unfortunately, airline industries are met with sharp opposition and criticism for various expansion projects and other controversial practices.

They can be neighboring individuals who are subjected to noise, and air pollution from nearby airliners. The government is held responsible for these environmental concerns as government funded organizations and laws are meant to protect and ensure the safety of all individuals. If safety is compromised to capitalize on expansion and monetary gain there is public outcry and opposition. Not only is this limited to the environment, but “Aviation places a heavy burden on taxpayers. The majority of airport construction is government funded” (p. 3). This poses problems for the United States economy if the government is directly involved with the aviation industry.
